Today, we learned about surface tension through making Oobleck. The students enjoyed this hands-on activity even though they had to get their hands a little messy. Oobleck is a mixture that is composed of corn starch and water, and the instructions to make it can be found below:
- 1 1/2 cups corn starch
- 1 cup water
- Mix the ingredients together using your hands. Once the substances are completely mixed, the mixture will be hard if you tap on it but it will be soft if you slowly lower your hand into it.
