Calling All Superheroes!

We have begun our quest to discover the super power within us.  As a conclusion to our body systems work, we will be  holding a super hero convention.  Our task is to understand our normal human body system, create a "hero's journey" story to mutate our body system, thus, yielding a new super power.  We will take time to construct our story, create our costumes and be ready to attend the super hero convention as that new super hero.

The Super Hero Convention will be held in room 217 on the morning of Friday, May 1st 2015.  Parents and family are encouraged to attend.

During the convention the students will be dressed as their superhero.  They will each present a five minute presentation that explains: More info and guidance to follow.  Here is a brief description.

  1. Hero/Villain Story: A story that explains the "hero's journey" of superhero/supervillain. This story can be presented in the form of a comic book, a song/rap or poem, a presentation, an animation or any other form of story telling that you have learned this year.  The story should follow the hero's journey.  It should include an explanation of the mutation that changed the normal body system into a superhuman body system.
  2. Create your superhero/supervillain: Design and develop your costume.  Include a chest plate/logo.  Develop a body system superhero motto: example:(To infinity and Beyond!)
  3. Comparison between normal body system and the mutated system of the superhero/villain.
We will be designing our stories and costumes in class this week.

Some Spring Break Pics...

Report Card Pick Up Schedule

Report card pick up day is this Thursday from 12-6PM.  Conferences for grades 2-8 will be on a walk-in basis.  This is done in order to allow parents to visit with the different teachers outside of the homeroom. Social Studies, PE, French, Science, and Computer Science teachers are also available during these times.
Report cards will be available for pick up on the first floor. I will be available in room 217 for 5-10 minute conferences from 12-3.  I have a break at 3-3:45 and will be in the room again from 3:45-6.
